The Social Café
The Global Campaign for Dalit Women (GCDW)’s Ambedkarite Social Café is a transformative space in New Delhi created to empower young women and girls, primarily from Dalit, Adivasi, Muslim, and LGBTQI+ communities, aged 13 to 30. Grounded in anti-caste and feminist principles, this space is dedicated to building self-confidence, identity, and leadership among those who are often marginalized in society.
Mentorship. Learning. Support
01
We empower young women and marginalized communities through leadership, Ambedkarite and feminist education, skill-building, and engaging events.
02
We train young women to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly, providing insights on social media usage and emerging technologies.
03
We engage in community activities to raise awareness and empower Dalit and other marginalized communities.
04
Our mentorship and exposure programs pair participants with women mentors for academic and personal guidance, nurturing a support system to aid their growth. We also organize regular exposure visits to organizations working on intersectional issues offering practical knowledge and real-world experience.
05
To ensure the mental and emotional well-being of our participants, we conduct sessions on mindfulness, meditation, and stress management. We create safe spaces for open discussions on topics such as body image, relationships, caste, privilege, race, and mental health.
06
We encourage creativity through activities like art, music, dance, street plays, and talent shows, to express themselves and build confidence. We promote reading and discussions around books developing a learning environment rooted in anti-caste and feminist ideologies.
