The Global Campaign for Dalit Women (GCDW) started as a small self-led initiative in October 2022, with the intent to empower caste-marginalized women, specifically Dalit and Adivasi women, to pursue strategies that ensure them dignity, safety, access, and justice.
While our work can be situated within a larger context of caste and gender-equity efforts taking place in the South Asian region, our objectives are specific and targeted at four focus groups: Survivors, Community Leaders, Marginalized Youth, and Civil Society.
Correspondingly, our workstreams cater to the focus groups’ distinct needs and challenges. At present, GCDW is engaged in key debates that include young feminisms, caste-equity, sexual & gender violence, sexual and reproductive health rights, and feminist leadership.
